Mason Public Schools has announced the hire of a new principal of the Harvey Education Center (HEC). Angie Vandecar brings over 15 years of early childhood development experience to the district. Most recently, Mrs. Vandecar served as a kindergarten teacher at Fuerstenau Early Childhood Center in DeWitt.

“Early Childhood Education is my absolute passion,” said Angie Vandecar. “Bringing together high standards, early literacy experiences, hands-on learning and social behavioral expectations is my goal in creating a wonderful school experience for the children who attend the Harvey Education Center.”

Mrs. Vandecar will oversee the Child Development Services programs already in place at the HEC as well as the new kindergarten classrooms that will be relocated to the HEC for the 2019-20 school year. “Mason Public Schools is happy to welcome Angie Vandecar to the team,” said Ronald Drzewicki, Ed.S., Superintendent of Mason Public Schools. “She is a great fit for the Mason community and plans to utilize her skills to assist Mason in building a strong early childhood foundation for students attending the HEC, as well as setting up a solid foundation for collaboration and learning.”
