Fifth graders honored at ceremony at Mason Middle School
Mason, MI – On May 2, twenty-five outgoing Mason fifth graders were honored at a ceremony to be recipients of the Mason Promise Scholarship when they graduate in 2025. Mason Public Schools administration selected students to be scholarship recipients based on academic capability, motivation, behavior, parent support and economic need.
The students who were honored at the ceremony were: Owen Adaway, Vincent Baker, Madison Beard, Savannah Beard, Brayden Braughton, Kendall Brown, Isaac Cooper, Kyliee Cousino, Owen Gustafson, Brooklynn Houser Stanton, Blendi Jahiri, Lillian Klages, Jennifer LaClear, Emme LaLonde, Taylor Lukavsky, Katelyn McCann, Layla Mulka, Alexander Palmer, Dakota Rahe, Logan Ravelo, Zachary Tyler, Caleb Vaughn, Heavenly Webb, Tyler Wood and Aaron Yergler.
“The Mason Promise Scholarship program provides the scholarship recipients with a gateway to a future that they deserve,” said Ted Berryhill, Mason Middle School Principal. “For our community to invest in our children in this way shows that the Mason community is committed to providing a world-class education for our students.”
The Mason Promise Scholarship is a community organization of volunteers that guarantees funding for two years of Lansing Community College education to selected scholarship recipients. Over the course of six years, these students receive mentoring and support as well as introduction to career possibilities through the Pathway Program.
