Mason High School students win a contest to Skype with well-known author
Earlier this month, Mason High School students participated in a Skype call with worldrenowned young adult author and vlogger, John Green. Mason High School Librarian, Kristy Sandel worked with students to enter a contest, in which a winning school would receive the opportunity to speak with the author. The contest was created by Follett Books.
Schools were asked to put together a display that incorporated elements from John Green books. His books sometimes address tough topics for young people including suicide and depression. Some of his popular books include, The Fault in our Stars, Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines and Turtles all the Way Down.
