Mason and Holt Unified Flag Football Team takes Gold at the National Special Olympic Games

The Mason and Holt Unified Flag Football Team took home gold medals on July 5 at the National Special Olympic Games which were held in Seattle, WA. Playing as Team Michigan, the team came from behind to win 18-12 over Minnesota. Upon returning to Michigan, the team was welcomed home by a police escort and a crowd of supporters at Washington Woods Middle School in Holt.

The Special Olympics USA Games is a national competition held each year. More than 4,000 athletes and coaches representing 50 state programs along with the support of thousands of volunteers and spectators, compete in 14 Olympic-type team and individual sports.
