Mason Public Schools Receives Positive Financial Audit

Mason Public Schools (MPS) is proud to announce the district’s strong state of financial health and stability. Through strong leadership from the Board of Education, staff, and faculty, the District has continued to move forward in a positive financial direction.

The District received an unmodified audit opinion, achieving the highest level of assurance possible. Plante Moran shared the positive results of the Mason Public Schools financial audit on Monday, October 1 with the Board of Education.

Due to sound fiscal management and board participation, the district continues to improve its operational stability. The District’s fund balance increased to 16.5%, up from the previous year, which was 13.58%

“Our board has worked hard with Superintendent Drzewicki and continues to move the district forward in a very positive direction. We, as a board, are proud of Mason Public Schools, financially, organizationally and programmatically,” said Kurt Creamer, president of the MPS Board of Education. “Our strong bottom line provides funding for additional educational opportunities that will impact all our students.”

In January, the Board of Education approved a revision to the 2018-2019 budget. For more information on the district’s finances and budget, please visit the Budget and Salary/Compensation Transparency Report.
